The QO account of life

Life is the result of natural purpose. It was produced by quantum systems which interact persistently with their environment only when their state amounts to the presence of life.

Phenomenon explained :

"Life is abundant".Life appears to have arisen on Earth spontaneously, despite even the simplest forms of life requiring so many factors to be in place at the same time and place that the probability of this happening appear to be vanishingly small.

That life has been observed to exist at all places and times that are favourable to it, and that new life forms arise with full functionality, with hardly any subfunctional intermediates, suggests the operation of natural purpose at seminal points in the evolution of life. It suggests that there was something, some setup that caused a wide range of independent developments to coincide in time and place, and then cooperate to produce major new developments, such as life itself, the mechanisms of sex, new species with different numbers of chromosomes than their forbears, complex systems such as the eye, and so on.

The QO explanation is that natural purpose can, under suitable conditions, cause a quantum system to evaluate enormously many variations of the system and come up with a variation that has properties which make an impact on the environment of the quantum system. For example, life may have arisen in a setup in which a patch of clay containing the appropriate raw materials was isolated within a container of stone which could experience interaction from the clay only when it produced the first form of life. For example, a substantially new life form may arise when junk DNA resonates in such a way as to manifest itself as operant DNA only when a potentially viable life form will be expressed. In this way a new species (incapable of reproducing in combination with the species from which they derive) might be generated. This is also the way in which new and complex functional components, such as the eye, might be generated.

The QO explanation has been demonstrated experimentally. In an experiment bacteria were capable of feeding only on a very specific food were suddenly placed in an environment without that food.  Some of the bacteria mutated to be able to feed in that new environment, and this process of mutation was orders of magnitude more rapid than mainstream science expected. This process, first identified by Cairns, is known as adaptive mutation.

Credibility:

Natural purpose is a natural behavior of quantum computers, in particular the quantum computer which is the universe. However, its operation is not sufficiently confirmed by observation to make it an established fact. It is a simple hypothesis. Its application to the development of life requires no additional explanatory elements, so the explanation that life is the result of natural purpose is also a simple hypothesis. As the explanations proffered by mainstream science involve gaps, this makes the QO explanation foundationally credible.
